LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOUR MOUTH

What's so great about heritage breeds of pork that get raised in a forest?
Well, everything! The short version is: it is all-natural, 100% antibiotic-free, raised on local non-GMO and certified organic feeds, outside in fresh air and shade. Heritage pork has superior marbling, resulting in more juicy and exceptionally tender meat. There's no "the other white meat," here - this has a richer deeper color and savory taste experience than you find on grocer shelves.
Isn't it just like any other pork? Not at all! Here's why!
The pigs live outdoors in woodlands, feasting on various forages includes mast (nuts and acorns) plants and roots; this changes the flavor and texture of the meat, making our pork a whole new flavor experience.
(Read more about our philosophy, the longer version, and why it's amazing!)
To see up to the moment availability of our individual cuts, please visit our online Farm Store. We offer a variety of traditional roasts, as well as some more unique offerings like double-cut super-thick heritage pork chops.

QUESTIONS about Buying in BULK: This can get a bit more complicated, but is certainly worthwhile for a savvy buyer!
We've been getting questions about ordering sides of pork with increasing frequency, so we'll list a few commonly asked questions and offer advice for folks looking to buy a whole or half hog here.
How much space will I need in my freezer?
Most modern refrigerator/ freezer appliances will accommodate a half hog. As a rule of thumb, assume that a half hog with around 60-80 lbs. of meat will fit into about 2.25- 3 cubic feet of cooler space. If you need to buy a freezer to keep this it will likely pay for itself in saving within the first order or two of bulk meat bundles, and the vacuum sealed packs will last a full year!
How Much Does a Side of Pork Cost?
Check our store for the price per pound for a whole or half hog. The price you pay is based on the hanging weight of the pig, which is the weight after the head, feet, and blood etc. have been removed, but before it has been butchered into usable cuts. The hanging weight of a side/half of our pork will often be between 100-140 lbs. That works out to approximately $700 for a side of pork and $1,500 for a whole hog. There is an additional butcher fee of $200 per whole hog, or $100 for 1/2. You will get the final exact prices once the pork is butchered to your specifications.
How Much Meat Will I Get From A Side of Pork?
Please understand up front the hanging weight is not the same as the meat yield weight after the meat is cut up to your specifications. Depending on the cuts you select, you can expect to get 70 to 80% of the hanging weight for your freezer. Obviously if you request the bones, organs, the trimmed fat, or the skull, for dog treats or something of the like, you will receive more weight, than if you skip those parts.
Why would I get a bulk box instead of a half hog if it's pricier?
We will select a set of cuts that represent a variety of great pork choices. No confusing cut sheets to figure out, nor individual butcher instructions, and instead of paying us for the "hanging weight" and then another cost for the butcher to cut, grind, and other wrapping fees, with our boxes, you know the cost up front and what you expect to receive.
Can I buy one and split it with a friend?
Absolutely! When you contact us to request the order, mention this and we will send you a set of recommended cuts, so that you and a friend can easily split the order in half between you and get relatively equal portions.
What's the availability?
We raise pork in small batches, so we do have limited availability. Additionally, the small-scale abattoir/ butcher is even more difficult to find and schedule with for small farms. We usually have 4 dates each year scheduled far in advance. If you're interested, please pre-order quickly as we do expect to sell out of our heritage pork custom products.
