Volunteer with us on the weekends, even in the off season
Get an in depth, behind the scenes look at what it takes to farm.
Plan to get those hands dirty, wear long pants, and skip your arm day at the gym! We set up projects based on the number of hands that are available, so we love to know in advance if you're coming to join us. Build chicken coops, help feed turkeys, organize orders for deliveries, wash eggs, trim branches in the forest, pick up sticks for Biochar, and lots more age and capability appropriate projects! (Remember to sign the waiver before your first time, see bottom of this page to download it.) Click here for the farm work/volunteering sign up schedule. |
* we are growing and changing! As we move to a new larger farm space this year (I know hooray!) we will have some popular programs on hold, including baby goat feeding until further notice.
We're sorry to miss out on the amazing community participation, but need to focus on setting up our new venue for our future programs and growth. We would love volunteers, as an alternative participation opportunity.
Bottle Feed our Baby Goats Each Spring* On hOld until 2025
Contact us to join a wait list to be first to hear about & sign up for Spring (around March.)
Spring of 2024 - We purchased several new girls: Caitlin Clark, Dawn Staley, Swifty, Beyonce, and Nina Simone, and several new babies were born here as well (twins, born the day of the solar eclipse in March 2024) Luna & Icarus & Ravi Shankar.
Spring of 2023 - New babies were born onsite Whitney Houston, twins: Tina Turner and Prince.
Spring of 2022 - We got to meet the sweet new babies at our farm - Ginger and Astaire (twins,) Marylin Monroe, Ruth, MJ, Voldemort, Tootsie, (Tom) Brady, Venus, and Serena.
Our first Goats from 2021: Muhammed Ali, Martina Navratilova, Simone Biles, and Petunia were all named after excellent athletes.
These kids are the Greatest Of All Time, (or GOATS, yes we said it!) We hope you will agree.
We are always taking suggestions for new names as well - we are thinking a theme of GOATS in the arts or music, probably... who will be next?
There is no age limit for bottle feeding, but in our experience children under four generally need help from an adult. Please wear sensible clothing- baby goats love to climb and jump. They are playful and you may get dirty! Click here to view our ever-growing gallery of cute baby goat photos!
Please wash or sanitize your hands prior to entering the farm.
Rain or shine, our babies are hungry at feeding time. Feedings start promptly at the time listed on your reservation - please consider arriving 10 minutes early. If you are late, your baby will be fed by someone else. Each bottle feeding slot entitles you to 30 minutes of visiting with the baby goats. If your feeding is at 1 pm you may then plan to visit after the feeding until 1:30 pm.

Foster a Farm chick/ Rent-a-chick - available in 2024
Cheeps, chicklets, puff balls, fluff-ettes: you'll find all sorts of names you hadn't expected with you foster our healthy farm chicks!
Have you ever wanted to get a chick for a little while, but were concerned about the responsibility or space requirements? Perhaps the HOA is concerned about grown Roosters at 4 am in the backyard? We have an educational opportunity for your family!
At The Edge Farms, we are always finding ways to provide unique, local, and educational farm experiences. Usually, we offer this between March - October based on the chicks that are available... bring that experience home to your family! Sometimes during the winter there are opportunities. Contact us for availability.
Introduce your kids, young and old, to caring for a healthy, friendly, live animal without a long-term commitment. Families in the Philadelphia-area bring hatched chicks home (with a care kit) for two to four weeks to see the birds grow and transform-right before your eyes! Perhaps it will light a spark for some future regenerative farmers themselves!
Some families choose to continue the adventure and keep the birds, raising them to maturity for their own Rainbow Eggs. The rest of the birdies return to our farm and chicken coops to produce their colorful eggs for all our subscribing families. Get additional questions answered here.
Email Us with questions or go to our Online Store to pre-order your chicklets!

Farm Tours: come for one or Two hours... leave with a new view of farming!* oN hold for 2024
Meet the birdies that make your breakfasts and cookies!
We want people to get the opportunity to learn about where your food comes from and see where and how the animals live.
The Edge Farms is a working farm that receives no taxpayer money via government subsidies. We are able to stay in business and provide flavorful food by using our time as productively as possible, building projects, fixing things, and doing daily chores. As much as we would love to spend time with everyone who comes by at whatever time of day, we simply can’t. We scheduled these tours so we can talk and answer questions both during and after the official time, and give you real attention, knowing all the animals are taken care of. Our scheduled public farm tours are listed below.
Public Tour Schedule: *
The official guided tour will be about 1.5 hours. We begin on time at noon, then we will be available for questions for another half hour afterward. Expect to stay about 2 hours, (12-2pm.)
Schedule will be published when available again.
The price for the tours are $10 per adult and children under 13 get in free! We are currently cap the tour attendance at 20 adults plus accompanying kids. You can pay electronically through our online store, once you register.
Please do understand we are a working farm, and want to invite and teach everyone, so keeping excited short ones within control makes it a great experience for all our attendees.
There will be opportunities to see our animals in their different environments, as well as conversations about how and why we practice regenerative farming. We will also discuss regenerative projects like the Ram Pump for electricity-free water pressure and the Biochar Chimney we are building.
We have scheduled these varying days, to accommodate calendars as much as possible.
Contact us if your group would like to request a private tour or event, and get a price quote, beginning at $75.
