What are the main reasons people buy from us?
Buying local: supporting your local (minority) farmers! The money you spend with us stays in the local economy. We decrease the miles food has to travel to get to your plate, thus reducing fossil fuel usage and increasing nutritional value of really fresh food. We make an effort to buy locally too.
Excellent taste and quality: our animals have access to pasture and shaded forest, making our products full of omega-3 fatty acids and nutrients. Happy animals produce healthy foods.
Parents want to change the way your family eats: shoppers and chefs have gotten younger, more diverse, and less connected to agriculture than ever before. We are your partner in reconnecting to- and LOVING - the food your family eats.
Know your farmers, know where your food comes from: we provide an accountability missing from most food providers today, helping our customers and farm partners vote with dollars. This way, supporting big-ag and destructive industrial food producers is at least, a choice.
We will always take time to answer your questions and love talking about what is happening on the farm.
What are regenerative agriculture, Permaculture, and biodynamic farming?
Regenerative agriculture and permaculture include a focus on developing inter-relationships between the animals, soil organisms, the plants growing on our land, and developing the surrounding ecosystem.
We treat the humanely-raised animals, crops, and soil as an interwoven ecological system with connections that support and nurture one another.
Biodynamic farming has a lot in common with other organic approaches – emphasizing the use of manure and compost for building soil health. This also excludes the use of artificial chemicals on soil and plants.
What methods of payment do you take?
We prefer Venmo and will also take Bitcoin, Cash App, and Paypal for electronic payment. If you would prefer another method let us know, cash and check are also accepted. Deposits for holiday turkeys, and Whole or Half Hogs can be sent separately, in advance from the full payments. All payments are due at or before delivery.
